2023/24

During the next 12 months we will commercially roll out our AI enabled person overboard detection system, known as ZOE, which has been co-developed with the US Coastguard. We will launch the world’s first unmanned search and rescue vessel, known as the Guardian. We will also grow sales of our award-winning Swift rescue conveyor.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our small team of talented engineers at Zelim. We are looking for a proven developer who is ready to dive into complex challenges from day one. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in software engineering principles and a track record of applying these skills. Working at Zelim you will have the opportunity to build products that will save lives using bleeding edge technology, be part of a fast-growing startup, and have the opportunity to work across our entire tech stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Feature Development: Transform business-driven requirements into fully developed and reliable features.
  • Feature Ideation: Work closely with stakeholders to generate innovative ideas that will set Zelim apart from our competitors.
  • Code Review: Help us ensure our code stays high quality. Make sure any code being committed is clean, reliable, tested, and documented.
  • Collaborate: You’ll be part of a small team at a fast-growing startup. Be happy to help out with data collection days, offsite client visits, or other tasks out with your day-to-day responsibilities. We’ve got each other’s backs!

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable programming skills. This can be proved via work experience or through showing us your GitHub or something real you’ve built.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript or Python.
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as git.
  • Experience working with frontend and/or backend web frameworks is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate your ideas to the team.
  • A passion for technology and continuous learning.
