Seatrade Cruise Global exhibitors

Zelim recently exhibited for the first time at Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, showcasing how our AI-enabled person overboard technology, ZOE, can support the safety and security of cruise ships and ports with its intelligent detection, tracking and alerting capabilities.

It was a great to hear about the current boom in the cruise sector, with annual passenger numbers growing by 5 million since pre-pandemic levels – and set to grow from 35 million today to almost 40 million by 2027! This is in turn driving a huge new shipbuilding programme.

We saw a lot of interest in ZOE from all the major cruise lines, many of whom came by the stand to watch demonstrations and hear how AI can be used to provide enhanced person overboard detection and tracking. We also caught up with our friends in the US Coastguard, who stopped by to discuss how our technology can support the safety of the cruise sector.

Additionally, we found some fantastic companies to partner with in the cruise industry, specifically IT system installation partners for the rollout of ZOE. All in all, a resounding success!

Our COO, Stewart Gregory (ex-Survitec VP Innovation & New Product Development), also appeared in the show edition of Seatrade Cruise Review magazine: “The most interesting innovations often come from startups that propose radical changes to the way we work. Using AI and unmanned systems effectively for search and rescue needs new ways of thinking and I see real potential in Zelim’s approach. It’s all about speed of rescue and the reduced risk to human life that these technologies enable. I am excited to be working with the team towards our first commercial deliveries.”
